Fall Career Camp in Florida: 4 Days to Discover Careers and Build Real Job Skills

November 02, 2026•5 min read

What do I want to do after high school? It's a big question, and for many students with disabilities, it's hard to answer without real chances to explore. That's what Fall Career Camp is for.

Fall Career Camp 2026 is a four-day, in-person camp where Florida students ages 14–21 explore careers, practice job skills, and build confidence for the future. This guide covers what the camp is, who it's for, where it takes place, and how to register.

What is Fall Career Camp?

Fall Career Camp is a hands-on, short-term program focused on career exploration and work readiness. Instead of sitting through lectures, students learn by doing: working in teams, practicing real workplace skills, and discovering what kinds of jobs match their strengths and interests.

Each camp runs for four days, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, for a total of 20 hours. Students who complete camp receive a working résumé and a certificate of completion.

Who is Fall Career Camp for?

Fall Career Camp is designed for students who:

  • Are ages 14–21

  • Are currently in school with an IEP or 504 Plan

  • Are registered with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), or are working with a VR Counselor

Interested students should contact their VR Counselor or local VR office for authorization.

Each day of camp focuses on different skills. Over four days, students work through five areas:

  • Work readiness training: what employers look for, from communication and teamwork to time management and professional habits

  • Job exploration counseling: discovering careers that match each student's strengths and interests, and what different jobs really look like

  • Self-advocacy: building the confidence to share needs, ask questions, and speak up at school, at work, and in the community

  • Counseling on post-secondary options: exploring college, vocational training, and other programs after high school

  • Work-based learning activities: putting new skills into practice with hands-on activities that bring the workplace to life

By the last day, students have a résumé they can use for job applications and a certificate that shows what they've completed.

How Fall Career Camp helps students

Team games build communication and confidence.

The move from high school to adult life can feel overwhelming. Career camp gives students a safe, supportive place to try new things before the stakes are high. Here's how it helps:

  • Clearer goals. Exploring different careers helps students figure out what they enjoy and what they're good at.

  • Real job skills. Practicing communication, teamwork, and time management builds habits employers value.

  • More confidence. Speaking up in a group, finishing a project, and earning a certificate are big wins.

  • A head start. Students leave with a résumé they can use right away.

  • New connections. Campers meet peers and mentors who understand their journey.

These skills connect to everything that comes next: a first job, more training, or college.

How to register for Fall Career Camp

Registering takes just a few minutes:

  1. Apply online. Fill out the short registration form on our Fall Career Camp page.
